Thomas is Back On the Board for 2012

Just three hours north of the WindsorONE mill in Surry Virginia, you will find some of the finest finish carpentry in Loudoun County by Jon Canigiani. Jon’s antique finish built-in bench is the highlight of this post

Jon took the next step in his design by combining Bead Board backing, Stain Grade seat and woven wire for the cabinet doors. But that wasn’t the end, his design also incorporated an antique finish.

So how did Jon get from a primed trim and bead board to this great built in? Jon’s design was conceptualized by a freehand drawing. The joints and general construction of this built- in were done with a combination of the Kreg Jig and the Festool  Domino.

The finish coat on this built-in ties all the design together. Jon used a coating system that he describes as two base coats of  Latex Paint – Poly Coat  – Alkyd Benjamin Moore glaze.
